Celebrating the Bi-centennial in Randolph as it concludes, the Big Moose Bach Fest presents Cameo Baroque, an ensemble committed to sharing music of the baroque on instruments of the period.
The concert of music by Johann Sebastian Bach entitled, A Concert of Trios and Arias, will be presented at Randolph Town Hall, Saturday afternoon, August 31st, at 2:30 pm. Performers include Leslie Stroud, traverso, and Laurie Rabut, viola da gamba. Beth Hilgartner, an Episcopal priest, writer, and maker of recorders, with Ernie Drown, church musician and harpsichordist, founded the Ensemble in 2013, under the auspices of the Cameo Arts Foundation, supporting organizations working to meet basic human needs in the region of the Upper Valley and beyond. The couple has performed regularly at the Randolph Church for many years. This concert will be dedicated to the recently deceased and beloved mentor, musician, and author, Heywood Alexander. |

Big Moose Bach Fest concludes on Sunday afternoon, September 1st, at St. Barnabas Church in Berlin, 2 High Street, with a concert of chamber music by J. S. Bach and contemporaries, Georg Philipp Telemann, Jean-Marie Leclair, and Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, performed by musicians from around the North country and led by Timothy Bell, who travels from Germany.
The performance concludes with the Cantata, Nun komm der Heiden Heiland, for chorus and string orchestra of period instruments, with soloists Miranda Bergmeier, Andrew Hudson-Sabens, and Luke Weisse, and directed by Dr. Susan Ferré. This concert will honor the memory of the Rev. Dr. Charles S. Brown. |
