In memory of the Rev. Dr. Charles S. Brown
(b. August 27, 1938 - d. July 14, 2024)

"We've lost a titan!"

This concert will honor the memory of
the Rev. Dr. Charles S. Brown,
who inspired these musicians with his Fantzi hats:

"I did not come here to cover your ears with paper
nor did I come here to paper your eyes with words
I came here to lift the low bubble in your laughter
from the troublesome sea of your dreams
and watch it envelop your music
and tighten the loosening strings
until some chance dissonance
brings it to the mouth of a never meant stream
on the ocean of the not yet seen..."

What are people saying about
Big Moose Bach Fest?

"One of the incredible gifts you have is how you are able to blend amateurs and professionals, instruments and voices into a seamless garment of sound!  To watch you with the performers was to witness one single organism produce something we can only call sublime!"

"Where in the world would we ever be able to see the impeccable virtuoso performance of an artist, completely free from affectation, on an exquisite medium, of the 'Goldberg Variations?'"

"…so grateful to have had the opportunity to witness consummate artistry this past unforgettable weekend! There is so much to rave about, something really special to move and excite us every one of the three programs. We were also moved to see Charley and your beautiful son performing with you!"

"What a weekend you gave all the fortunate members of the fine audiences who attended your concerts! It is impossible to mention many of the highpoints since they were so numerous...   The festival keeps getting better every year—in repertoire and performance.  We were all blown away by the end of the A Major Mass by the cumulative power and excitement of the music!"

"Sunday was so wonderful, I have not been so moved in a long long time-- it was a sacred and inspiring evening.  Thank you with all my heart---"

"We were applauding loudly Sunday afternoon and it was so beautiful I didn’t want to end – We were uplifted by it all – enjoyed all the concerts.  Great job!"
